GK Chandler was born in Melbourne, Australia, and grew up in various parts of the country including Melbourne, Brisbane, Benalla and Traralgon. In 2000 he settled in country Victoria, working remotely in IT.
The writing bug caught him in sixth grade when he penned his first substantial work, a sci-fi novella, inspired by, and extremely loosely based on, Star Trek. However, it would be many years before he found his voice and penned his first major work, The Gateways of Alkademah. He has previously authored two programming books.
He lives on a few acres in the Bendigo region of Victoria with his wife, Jan, their cats, Hugo, Kasper and Maggie and, very frequently, a mob of kangaroos.
